The 7 Types of Photographers Everyone Hates

Photographers are a special breed of people. We see the world in a different way than most people, and we have an unending passion for capturing life through our cameras.

But not everyone loves photographers. In fact, there are seven types of photographers that everyone seems to hate. If you’re one of these types of photographers, don’t worry – you’re not alone! Read on to find out which one you are…and why everyone hates you. 😉

The “I’m better than you” photographer:

This type of photographer is always quick to point out how much better they are than anyone else. They think their photos are the best and they love to tell everyone about them. They’re also quick to put down other photographers, especially if their photos aren’t up to their standards.

If this sounds like you what should you do?

Try to be more humble. no one likes a bragger, and it’s easy to see through someone who is constantly trying to prove how great they are.

The “one-trick pony” photographer:

This type of photographer only knows how to do one thing such as only shooting portraits, only shooting landscapes, or only shooting macro photos. They’re not versatile and they’re not open to trying new things.

If this sounds like you what should you do?

Don’t be afraid to try new things! You might just surprise yourself and find a new passion. Join a photography group or class to learn from others and expand your skills.

The “perfectionist” photographer:

This type of photographer is never happy with their photos. They’re always finding something wrong with them and they’re constantly trying to make them perfect. They’re also very critical of other photographers’ work.

If this sounds like you what should you do?

Try to relax and enjoy the process of taking photos. Remember that no one is perfect and that there is beauty in imperfection.

The “I know everything” photographer:

This type of photographer pretends to know everything about photography, even if they don’t. They’re always giving unsolicited advice and they love to tell others what they’re doing wrong. They also think they’re the only ones who know how to do things the “right” way.

If this sounds like you, what should you do?

Try to be more open-minded. Listen to other photographers’ advice and take it into consideration. Remember that there is more than one way to do things and that what works for you may not work for someone else.

The “control freak” photographer:

This type of photographer likes to be in complete control of everything, from the lighting to the composition to the post-processing. They’re often very inflexible and they can be very difficult to work with.

If this sounds like you what should you do?

Try to loosen up and allow others to help you with your photos. Remember that it’s okay to delegate and that other people may have good ideas, too.

The “self-promoter” photographer:

This type of photographer is always trying to promote themselves and their work. They’re always posting their photos online, handing out business cards, and talking about how great they are.

If this sounds like you what should you do?

Try to be more modest. Self-promotion is great in moderation, but if you’re constantly doing it, it can be off-putting to others.

The “diva” photographer:

This type of photographer is very high maintenance. They’re often late or cancel appointments, they’re demanding, and they expect everything to be perfect. They can also be very difficult to work with.

If this sounds like you what should you do?

Again, try to relax and be more flexible. Remember that things don’t always have to be perfect and that people will still appreciate your work even if it’s not 100% polished.

Conclusion

If you find yourself exhibiting any of these behaviors, try to adjust accordingly. No one wants to work with a photographer who is difficult, unprofessional, or always trying to promote themselves at inappropriate times. Be humble, be open-minded, be flexible, and you’ll find that people will be more than happy to work with you.
